Attorney Brown is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator
Mediation is an alternate method of dispute resolution. It may occur PRIOR to litigation (filing a lawsuit), during litigation in an attempt to resolve issues prior to final hearing, may be court ordered to encourage settlement, or may occur POST litigation to avoid re-litigation of certain unresolved or new issues. Mediation is VOLUNTARY.
It provides flexibility for the parties to help develop substantive agreements to which they intend to be bound. Mediation is confidential for all parties involved unless disclosure is required or permitted by law. Mediation involves a process of problem solving directed negotiation through the use of an impartial third person who is and will remain neutral and who has no stake in the outcome of the agreement or case.
If I can be of service in Family Court mediations or in any area that I practice: Immigration and Wills and Trusts, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Parenting Coordination
The purpose of parenting coordination is to provide a CHILD-FOCUSED alternative dispute resolution process whereby a parenting coordinator assists the parents in creating or implementing a parenting plan by facilitating the resolution of disputes between the parents by providing education, making recommendations, and, with the prior approval of the parents and the court, making limited decisions within the scope of the court’s order of referral.
Appellate Mediation
Appellate Mediation is mediation which occurs during the pendency of an appeal in a civil case.
Arbitration
Arbitration is a process whereby a neutral third person or panel, called an arbitrator or arbitration panel, considers the facts and arguments presented by the parties and renders a decision which may be binding or nonbinding on the participating parties. Arbitration may be court ordered, a result of contract terms, or occur by agreement of the parties
