Attorney Brown has been practicing law in Central Florida for about 27 years. She is an immigrant from the island country of Jamaica in the Caribbean and lived in South Florida for many years. She is a graduate of the University of Florida’s College of Law where she was a Virgil Hawkins Legal Fellow. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Latin American Studies with a concentration in Political Science and is fluent in Spanish. She has basic knowledge of Brazilian Portuguese and French. She practices in Central Florida covering Brevard, Osceola, Orange, Seminole and Volusia Counties. She is eligible to practice before the Federal District Court in the Florida Middle and Southern Districts.
She started her career as a staff attorney at Community Legal Services of Mid-Florida formerly Central Florida Legal Services where she developed her skills for consumer advocacy and community outreach assisting the Coalition for the Homeless and working with the Public Housing Authority in Daytona Beach. She is a former managing attorney for the Orlando Diocese Catholic Charities Immigration & Refugee Services where she provided direct services while engaging with migrant grassroots community-based organizations and provided immigration law training to the public in coordination with the Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc. (CLINIC).
She is currently a sole practitioner with an office in Winter Springs, Florida. Her areas of practice include Immigration, Family, Estate Planning, Probate Law and Dispute or Conflict Resolution. She is a Parenting Coordinator and Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Court and Appellate Mediator. She has practiced before the Orlando Immigration Court and represents clients from all over the world including places such as Senegal, Kazakstan, Egypt, Cuba, Haiti, Ecuador, Albania, Mexico, Italy, Germany, Canada, Suriname, Jamaica, Haiti, The Dominican Republic, Guyana, St. Martens, St. Kitts and Nevis, Morocco, Czech Republic, Germany, England, France, Russia, The Philippines, China, Australia, Romania, Ukraine, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Turkey, Kosovo, Argentina, Brazil, El Salvador, Honduras, Ghana, Tahiti, Korea, Bosnia, Serbia, Croatia, Iran, South Africa and Peru.
She is widely traveled having visited many countries on at least five continents including Argentina, Australia, the Bahamas, Belize, Brazil, Canada, England, France, India, Indonesia, Mexico and Norway. She enjoys learning about history, cultures and foreign foods. She is a fierce advocate for cultural awareness, diversity and inclusion. She is passionate about children, supporting domestic abuse survivors, and achieving justice for the disabled, immigrants and the disenfranchised. She is a Christian, breast cancer survivor and single mother of two beautiful children. She serves her community assisting her church and the Adult Literacy League as a board member. She is dedicated to educating and empowering people to improve their lives.
